(presented by the ADTA)
Event conducted by ADTA president and member Mark Knapp, who is a Range Officer at Paul Bunyan Rifle and Sportsman's Club (17902 Meridian East, Puyallup, WA). Mark has obtained and will supervise the use of two of Paul Bunyan's 3-berm enclosed Action Bays for a group of up to 12 ADTA members to participate in a unique exercise supporting 180 degree arcs of fire. ADTA will also be providing an NRA-certified Range Safety Officer for this event.
- Two-up steel plate shooting.
- Two-up side movement, cover, and steel plate shooting.
- One-up forward movement, cover, clearing, and broad-arc shooting.
Special considerations for this event:
- Attendees are guests of Mark Knapp as a Paul Bunyan member, and of the Paul Bunyan Rifle and Sportsman's Club. All guest and range rules must be observed as posted at the site.
- The action bays are not covered; this is an outdoor event. Given the time of year, participants should be prepared for inclement weather. Some covered areas may be available for participant use.
- Paul Bunyan observes strict vertical fire containment; no muzzle may ever be directed above a berm. Participants are completely and solely responsible for every bullet they fire.
- The permitted 180 degree arc of fire in the action bay moves forward with the shooter, and stays parallel with the open end of the bay.
Participants should bring:
- Semiautomatic pistol.
- At least two magazines.
- 150 to 200 rounds of ammunition.
- Stiff holster that covers the trigger and permits the firearm to be withdrawn and reholstered while observing safe muzzle direction.
- Magazine pouch.
- Shooting glasses, ear protection, and hat with brim.
- Appropriate layered clothing.
