All the tactical advantages of a semiautomatic pistol can come to a dangerous halt if your weapon malfunctions.  In this interactive class, we'll focus on clearing the four most common types of malfunctions you may experience with your semiautomatic pistol, and practice clearing them quickly to get you back able to defend yourself.

We'll start step-by-step, advance to self-paced, then add time pressure and surprise calls to help you learn these valuable skills.

You'll learn to quickly recognize and correct under pressure:
  • Type I malfunctions: Failure to fire.
  • Type II malfunctions: Failure to eject.
  • Type III malfunctions: Failure to extract.
  • Emergency reloads: Empty magazine during a lethal encounter.

Attendees should bring:
  • Semiautomatic pistol
  • Two magazines for your pistol
  • At least three Snap Caps (inert dummy rounds) of your pistol's caliber.
  • Magazine pouch
  • Holster (strong side, outside-the-waistband preferred).
After this class, you'll be able to configure and clear these malfunctions as part of your own regular, safe dry practice.
