Handgun Takeaway & Retention
ADTA Member-Instructor Jeff Coder

Firearms are most effective at a modest distance. In a defensive situation, you may need to defend against a firearm at arm's length, or retain control of your own firearm while struggling with an opponent attempting to take it from you.  Join us for this informative, hands-on participation seminar on pistol and shotgun takeaway and retention techniques at close-quarters contact distance.

We will be using inert training guns for this exercise. This is a good confidence building skill to have because you never know when you're gonna have to deal with something like this. This meeting / workshop is free and open to the general public. You do not need to be an ADTA member to participate in our monthly workshops. The ADTA's mission is to offer practical self defense skills and mindset to the general public in a safe, empowering and supportive environment.

ADTA Range Safety Officers (RSOs) will be present to assist.  If you normally carry a firearm, you are welcome to do so at this event.  Loaded carry firearms must remain holstered -- no exceptions.  If you would like to bring a firearm to show to the group, or you would like to participate in our hands-on exercises, our Range Safety Officers will help you safely unload and clear your firearm at the door.

Have a question about ADTA membership, events, or activities?  Many ADTA members are available both before and after the presentation to help.    Also please check out the ADTA website at http://armeddefense.org
