**********

Most armed encounters last only seconds.  If you're in a longer confrontation, would you freeze in place, or would you naturally move and use what's around you?  We want to help you build and reinforce the skills that get your feet in motion while you respond to the threat.  In this open public workshop, we'll be explaining and simulating several armed-encounter exercises that you can try.  ADTA will be providing inert SIRT laser training pistols for participants for this workshop.

Movement is one thing, but what if you're having to also deal with darkness?  How do you safely use a flashlight to your advantage, and at the same time, how do you keep your gun's muzzle pointed in a safe direction until you're certain you must shoot?  For the second half of our workshop this evening, you'll learn a technique for controlling a flashlight in one hand and your pistol in the other, and how to search and sight in darkness.  Take these skills home, and be ready to practice them at our live-fire range event the next week.

      **********

ADTA Range Safety Officers (RSOs) will be present to assist.  If you normally carry a firearm, you are welcome to do so at this event.  Loaded carry firearms must remain holstered -- no exceptions.  If you would like to bring a firearm to show to the group, or you would like to participate in our hands-on exercises, our Range Safety Officers will help you safely unload and clear your firearm at the door.

Have a question about ADTA membership, events, or activities?  Many ADTA members are available both before and after the presentation to help.    Also please check out the ADTA website at http://armeddefense.org
