Presented by the ADTA

This evening's live-fire practice is a follow-up to our Introduction and Intermediate/Advanced skills workshops the week prior.  Whether you were able to attend that workshop or not, you're welcome to participate at this ADTA live-fire event.  Preregistration is required; we cannot accept registrations at the door.

Sign up for the group you'd most like to participate within!

Introductory Group

Your all-inclusive registration for this event includes a one-month ADTA membership, event admittance, and the opportunity to try a variety of 380, 9mm, 40, and 45 caliber handguns brought and attended by our ADTA members. All range supplies, including targets and ammunition, will be provided.  Participants must bring a set of appropriate protective shooting glasses with or minimal peripheral gaps and ear protection appropriate for indoor range use (foam earplugs or over-the-ear protection rated for shooting sports).

Our ADTA mentors will help you develop your skills in stance, grip, sight picture, and trigger control as you try several different handguns throughout the evening in a safe and helpful group.

Participation in ADTA live-fire events requires ADTA membership.  The non-member price for the Introductory Group includes one month of ADTA membership, with no further commitment.  ADTA membership requires either a Concealed Pistol License (CPL) or acceptance of a background check.  ADTA members and participants in live-fire events must be 18 years of age or older.

Intermediate/Advanced Group

Already comfortable with the basics?  Great!  Our Intermediate/Advanced group will be practicing helpful skill development drills including:

  • Accuracy
  • Movement, and Shooting On The Move
  • Called Targets (Shoot/No Shoot)
  • Low-Light (Flashlight drills)
  • Malfunction Drills
Participants in our Intermediate/Advanced Group should bring their semiautomatic pistol of choice, a strong-side muzzle-down holster that you can safely reholster into using only one hand, a belt pouch holding two magazines, 100 to 200 rounds of ammunition, shooting eye and ear protection, and a handheld flashlight (1" diameter lights with a tailcap switch are ideal).
