Presented by the ADTA.

You're in a deadly-force encounter; you've brought your firearm to bear and you press the trigger, needing to cut a path to safety.

What do you do?
Semiautomatic handguns are compact, generally reliable, and with the ease of magazine changes can readily carry enough rounds for even a dangerous encounter versus multiple threatening opponents.  Being safe and prepared to effectively use a semiautomatic handgun in a deadly-force situation requires you to be ready to handle several common types of malfunctions in the middle of a fight -- without having to think about it.

In this free workshop, we invite you to bring your semiautomatic handgun, holster, two magazines, and a magazine belt pouch.  Please arrive with your handgun completely unloaded, and holstered or cased; magazines should be completely unloaded.  No live ammunition is permitted during this event; ADTA will provide you inert practice rounds for this evening's exercises.

We'll discuss and demonstrate four common types of pistol malfunctions -- situations where you pressed the trigger, expecting a bang, and got nothing.  We'll walk you through, hands-on and step-by-step, how to quickly clear those malfunctions during a fight and return your gun to operation.  You'll also learn about tactical reload techniques, and the importance of movement.

The following week, join us at the range to practice these malfunction-clearing techniques under the timed pressure of a live-fire environment, competing against yourself to improve.

This is a free presentation taught by experienced ADTA member volunteers with real, professional experience as former police officers; all materials will be provided.  Please RSVP to let us know you'll be there!

Have a question about ADTA membership, events, or activities?  Many ADTA members are available both before and after the presentation to help.
