Presented by the ADTA.

Skill Focus:
  • Introduction to Handguns, Bay 1
  • Intermediate/Advanced Handgun Skills, Bay 2

This event is dynamic and flexible, with exercises tailored to the attendees.  We usually use the first hour of the event for group practice, and reserve the second hour for unique down-range exercises and practice over and above what you can regularly do at the range.

With two connected but separate bays to work with, we'll help you work at whichever skill level you're most comfortable.  You're welcome to move between bays and exercises during the event.

If you intend to participate in the Introduction bay, please bring appropriate eye protection, ear protection, and a hat or hat with a brim.  ADTA members will be providing firearms you are welcome to try.  Please bring $30 to $50 in cash with you to the event for ammunition.  Ammunition will be available in $5 increments for each firearm; we have a great poker-chip process that eliminates the need to handle any cash or make change during the event.

ADTA members, if you can bring one or two extra handguns to this event for participants to try, along with ammunition in $5 lots, it really helps make the event a strong success.

If you intend to participate in the Intermediate/Advanced bay, please bring your semiautomatic pistol of choice, at least two magazines for your pistol, a belt holster for your pistol, and a magazine belt pouch for your pistol.  You'll also need 100 to 200 rounds of ammunition, eye protection, ear protection, and a hat with a brim (strongly recommended).

If you prefer to shoot a revolver, please bring at least two speedloaders with belt pouches for it.

Plan on participating for the whole event with your primary firearm.  If you would like to bring a second firearm in case your primary firearm malfunctions or proves unsuitable, you're welcome to do so; we can pause the event and participants to permit you to change firearms.

You may arrive with your firearm unloaded and cased; event staff will direct you where and when to uncase and transfer your firearm to your holster.

You may arrive with your firearm loaded and holstered, if you have a CPL and normally carry.  Event staff will direct you where and when to unload and reholster your firearm at the start of the event; we run a cold range, with firearms unloaded and holstered until you are on the firing line and instructed to load.
