ADTA formed from an idea first discussed on New Year's Eve, 2011, in Federal Way, Washington.  In early 2012, the founding members held two community outreach meetings at the local Federal Way Library.  We overflowed the meeting room each time with the draw of like-minded individuals wanting to form a friendly, local group to regularly introduce and practice self-defense and handgun skills at local ranges.

Interest has been regularly growing in the north end of King County and south Snohomish County in forming a new ADTA chapter; still member-led, member-instructed, non-profit, and volunteer; and formalizing our tentative arrangements with West Coast Armory North to conduct regular live-fire events north of Seattle.

Will you be part of making it happen?

A successful ADTA chapter needs about 20 to 30 members to start, and a core group of 6 motivated volunteers to make it happen, from event coordinators to ADTA range safety officers to ADTA instructors to chapter executives and marketers.  We've built a successful and growing organization in ADTA, with thriving content, participation, volunteer opportunities, growth, and regular events offering great value to our members.

Whether you can potentially participate as one of those core volunteers, integrating and learning from ADTA's programs and Federal Way events and board, or whether you'd love to have an ADTA in your local community where you can actively participate in local, interesting, and challenging live-fire shoots, we'd like to see you at the Mountlake Terrace library on May 6.

This May 6 meeting is to gauge interest, discuss what ADTA is and how it can work in your community, build that core team to make a new chapter come together, kick off the action plan, and make it happen.

Please RSVP, and spread the word to friends and family!  This event is free and open to the public; it'll be a great coming together and action-oriented discussion.
