Handgun Skills
Introduction and Intermediate Development

Whether you'd like to learn the basics of gun safety, handgun operation, and hitting your target; or more advanced handgun operations including clearing malfunctions, tactical reloads, operation with flashlights, and more; this session has something for everyone.

This event will be held at the Federal Way Senior Center, Federal Way, Washington.

Our opening full-group workshops will include an overview of ADTA live-fire range operations and participant roles, with hands-on sessions on gun safety.  We'll then divide the workshop into an introductory group and an advanced group; you're welcome to participate hands-on in either.  Both sections will be conducted at the same time, and should conclude about the same time.

The introductory course will be conducted with real firearms equipment and inert practice rounds, as well as replica firearms that simulate the firing action of semiautomatic pistols, and SIRT laser training pistols for learning operation and accuracy.  Participants in the introductory group do not need to bring any equipment.

Attendees intending to participate in the intermediate/advanced course should bring their own semiautomatic pistol, at least two magazines, a strong-side muzzle-down holster, and a magazine belt pouch.  Inert practice rounds will be provided when necessary for exercises.

Participants in this free public workshop are encouraged to also sign up for our ADTA live-fire session, held the following Thursday evening at 6:30pm in Federal Way.
